A New Endeavor

Today's the day! I hit the "publish" button and began listing items for (hopefully) sale!
I hope you enjoy browsing through these creations as much as I enjoy sharing them with you! And there are definitely more where those came from...just currently in process. Seriously, it has taken over my house and most all of my free time! But I love it, and I love the chaos of paint cans, brushes, stencils and random pieces of wood that has ensued.
Here's a snapshot of what my kitchen table looks like as I type this:
Be sure to be checking back for updates and new listings, and thank you so much for encouraging me with this endeavor!

Introducing Garland & Pendant

I've made the dive into the small business world and am in the works of opening an Etsy shop....Garland & Pendant will have its first ever item listings up and running on Monday, October 29th! Be sure to check out Garland & Pendant's about page and keep your eye out for item updates and listings!

I am so excited to begin this venture! In the words of Mary Katherine Gallagher:
"There are two different ways of getting into a swimming pool. The first way, you take your toe and carefully test the water's temperature, and if that feels okay, slowly get into the water, letting your body adjust to the cold. Then, there's the second way of getting into a pool....YOU JUMP!"
Here's to all those that are currently taking the plunge....

Welcoming Another Autumn

Knitted pumpkins: Locally made by Memories of Mom, purchased at The Unicoi County Apple Festival. I couldn't believe how perfect the colors were for my living room!
Dried Pumpkins: Michael's
Berry garland: Michael's

Yarn pumpkin garland: Precious DIY with instructions here.
Leaf garland: Hand-drawn leaves cut out of construction paper and threaded with twine.....total elementary school seasonal craft project decor!

If you want this super cute backdrop for you own computer you can download it free here. There's still a whole half of October left to use it!

Yesterday, we had the most beautiful break from what seems to be daily dreariness. We took advantage of the sunshine while we had the chance!

Leave are so much fun! But it's even more fun to watch Finn realizing how fun leaves are for the first time! Since August, I've been thinking back a lot to a year ago, remembering how small Finn was last Halloween, and it's hard to believe....here he was last October:
I remember last year listening to lots of Ella Fitzgerald and picking wild goldenrod out of my neighbor's overgrown side yard.

As much as I so enjoyed the gift of a sunny day yesterday, there's some kind of quiet excitement to the gloomy skies making the October backdrop for bright colored leaves. This weather makes it all the more perfect for drinking hot apple cider, carving pumpkins, and watching The Legend of Sleepy Hollow! So welcome back today gray skies!
Happy mid-October everyone! Soak it up, soon it will be winter!
